Lead AI/ML Engineer, Security AI & LLMs

About the role

Security AI & LLMs team at SonicWall builds intelligent detection and response capabilities for next‑generation cybersecurity products. The Lead AI/ML Engineer designs and deploys Retrieval‑Augmented Generation pipelines, fine‑tunes LLMs, and creates scalable MLOps workflows that turn security telemetry into actionable insights. Works in Pune, India with a hybrid model (3 days onsite, 2 days remote) and leads a small, fast‑moving engineering group.

What you’ll do

• Architect and deploy Retrieval‑Augmented Generation pipelines and agentic workflows for security telemetry
• Design, train, fine‑tune and evaluate ML/DL models for anomaly detection and classification
• Implement AI safety guardrails, evaluation frameworks, and alignment techniques
• Build and maintain scalable MLOps pipelines from data preprocessing to model monitoring
• Collaborate with Data and Product Engineers to ensure low‑latency, secure inference
• Set technical direction and drive rapid execution within a small, ambiguous environment

What you’ll bring

• 6+ years of professional ML production experience
• 1+ years focused on LLMs and generative AI
• Deep expertise in Python and PyTorch/TensorFlow
• Experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex or Hugging Face
• Hands‑on with vector databases such as Pinecone, Qdrant or Milvus
• Production engineering skills: API design, Docker/Kubernetes
• Cloud ML platform experience (AWS SageMaker, Azure ML, GCP Vertex AI)
• Cybersecurity domain knowledge preferred
