Java Tech Lead

About the role

eLIMS-Forensics programme at Eurofins Scientific builds enterprise systems for forensic case management, LIMS and expert reporting. As a Java Tech Lead you will own architecture and development of Java applications, guide distributed teams, and modernize legacy forensic platforms. Based in Bengaluru with hybrid collaboration across UK, Europe and offshore centres, you will ensure scalable, high‑performance solutions and mentor nearshore/offshore developers.

What you’ll do

• Define and implement software architecture for enterprise Java applications
• Develop full‑stack features using Java, Eclipse RCP, and WildFly
• Design and optimise backend services and data models with PostgreSQL
• Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines and Docker containers in Azure DevOps
• Perform performance profiling, JVM tuning and ensure code quality
• Collaborate with product, QA, DevOps and architecture stakeholders across distributed teams
• Mentor nearshore and offshore developers and drive knowledge transfer
• Support production stability and continuous improvement

What you’ll bring

• 10+ years enterprise Java development
• Java 11/17 experience
• Java EE/Jakarta EE expertise
• WildFly application server knowledge
• PostgreSQL and JPA/Hibernate experience
• Azure DevOps CI/CD pipeline experience
• Experience in regulated forensic/LIMS environments

Nice to have

Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or Engineering
