About the role
Wood India Consulting is seeking a Senior Engineer – Subsea Pipeline to lead and execute offshore pipeline projects within its Technical Consulting Division. Based in Chennai, the role requires on‑site presence to collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams—engineering, procurement, construction, and quality assurance—to deliver projects from concept through commissioning. The engineer will conduct feasibility studies, detailed design calculations, and ensure compliance with industry codes such as API and ISO. Responsibilities include project planning, risk assessment, quality control, and mentoring junior staff. Candidates should hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering, possess extensive offshore pipeline experience, and be proficient in design tools like Abaqus, AutoPIPE, OrcaFlex, and Caesar II. What you’ll do
- Manage subsea pipeline projects from concept to completion
- Develop project plans, schedules, budgets and monitor progress
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, construction, QA teams
- Conduct feasibility studies and detailed engineering calculations
- Ensure quality control, regulatory compliance and safety
- Provide technical support during construction, installation, commissioning
- Mentor junior engineers and promote knowledge sharing
- Coordinate with external contractors and vendors
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical/Civil Engineering
- Extensive offshore pipeline engineering experience
- Knowledge of API, ISO design codes and regulations
- Proficient in Abaqus, AutoPIPE, OrcaFlex, Caesar II
- Understanding of trenching, pipelay, riser systems
- Familiar with subsea inspection, repair, maintenance
