Assistant Vice President - Risk and Control Analytics Lead

About the role

Risk and Control Analytics team at HSBC drives non‑financial business risk management across the bank. The role leads 1st line defense activities, including issue management, control monitoring, risk assessments and audit readiness, while partnering with senior risk owners to improve processes. Based in Bangalore with an on‑site work model, the position offers exposure to private banking, wealth products and automation initiatives.

What you’ll do

• Manage and coordinate non‑financial business risk activities in 1st line of defense
• Conduct control design validation and operating effectiveness testing
• Lead audit and assurance readiness tasks ensuring quality and timeliness
• Perform risk and control reviews through process walkthroughs and data‑driven analysis
• Identify emerging risks and benchmark industry standards
• Drive automation projects to improve efficiency
• Support market first‑line risk management across conduct, sales quality, financial crime, product management, business continuity and information risk
• Influence senior stakeholders to prioritize risk deliverables

What you’ll bring

• 8-15 years of experience
• Graduate or master’s degree
• Exceptional project management skills
• Strong understanding of operational risk frameworks
• Stakeholder management and senior influence
• Knowledge of private banking and wealth business
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Experience with digitalization and data analytics is a plus
