Senior Application Architect, Java Fullstack

About the role

L&H Solutions at Swiss Re builds cloud‑native SaaS/PaaS platforms for Life & Health insurance clients. As a Senior Application Architect you will lead architecture and hands‑on development of Java full‑stack solutions, drive AI‑assisted engineering practices, and mentor a globally distributed engineering team. Hybrid role based in Hyderabad, TG, India with at least three days onsite per week.

What you’ll do

• Lead architecture and design across the full SDLC
• Drive adoption of AI‑assisted coding, testing, and documentation tools
• Champion cloud‑native, DDD, DevSecOps, and observability practices
• Contribute hands‑on code, conduct reviews, and solve technical problems
• Build, coach, and mentor a high‑performing engineering team
• Partner with product owners to align delivery with business outcomes
• Drive Agile delivery, engineering KPIs, and continuous improvement
• Foster a culture of innovation, ownership, and collaboration

What you’ll bring

• 12-15+ years software engineering experience
• 5+ years hands‑on technical leadership
• Expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, APIs
• Deep knowledge of Azure, Kubernetes, CI/CD, DevSecOps
• Experience with AI‑enabled SDLC tools like GitHub Copilot
• Strong communication and stakeholder management
• Experience in Agile, distributed teams
• Exposure to insurance or financial services is a plus
