Lead Data & AI Ops Engineer

About the role

The Data & AI Engineering team in Bangalore seeks a Lead Data & AI Ops Engineer to own the operational health, governance, and reliability of the enterprise Data & AI ecosystem. This role involves establishing operating models, automating controls, and providing deep Snowflake production support while integrating GenAI tools for incident analysis. The position is based in Bangalore with a hybrid work model requiring three days in the office.

What you’ll do

• Own end-to-end Data & AI Operations, ensuring availability, reliability, and SLA adherence
• Provide day-to-day Snowflake production support, monitoring, and capacity management
• Support and enhance Data Engineering pipelines and troubleshoot ingestion issues
• Monitor AI/ML and GenAI workloads, including model jobs and API integrations
• Develop automation scripts and AI-assisted workflows to reduce manual operational activities
• Implement intelligent monitoring and anomaly detection across data pipelines and services
• Manage Incident, Problem, Change, and Release Management activities
• Perform data quality checks, reconciliation, and root-cause analysis for discrepancies

What you’ll bring

• 8–12 years experience in Data Engineering, Data Platforms, or Production Operations
• Deep hands-on Snowflake expertise including administration, SQL, and performance tuning
• Strong experience building engineering solutions using Python, APIs, and RPA
• Demonstrated FinOps and cost optimization outcomes in cloud consumption
• Expertise with dbt and ETL/ELT technologies like Fivetran, Informatica, or Azure Data Factory

Nice to have

• Experience implementing DataOps, CI/CD, observability, and automated platform controls
• Strong understanding of production operations, incident management, and RCA
• Experience with enterprise BI platforms such as Power BI and Looker
• Ability to operate as both a hands-on engineer and technical leader
