About the role

Software Engineer on NetApp's AI/ML team for the ONTAP storage operating system. Develops, tests, and debugs distributed C/C++ software that powers cloud, hybrid‑cloud, and on‑prem solutions, collaborating with cross‑functional engineers. Bangalore, Karnataka, India, on-site, hybrid model with occasional remote days.

What you’ll do

• Develop and design AI/ML features for ONTAP
• Write, test, and debug distributed C/C++ code
• Lead mid‑to large‑sized projects and critical support engagements
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and participate in technical discussions
• Provide support for other engineers' development and testing activities

What you’ll bring

• 4-8 years software engineering experience
• Strong C/C++ coding skills
• System/kernel programming experience
• Experience with filesystems or networking protocols
• Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks (PyTorch/TensorFlow) a plus
• Strong oral and written communication
• Team‑oriented and quick learner
