About the role
MEP Engineering Team at Larsen & Toubro designs and oversees electrical infrastructure for large construction projects. The Design Engineer plans and executes HT/LT systems, transformers, switchgear, panels, lighting, cabling, earthing, and UPS installations, coordinating schedules and resources to meet project timelines. Works on-site in Chennai, supervising subcontractors and ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, and safety standards.
What you’ll do
- Lead planning and execution of electrical works on construction sites
- Develop detailed execution schedules and coordinate with overall project timeline
- Manage subcontractors and installation teams, providing technical guidance and supervision
- Review and validate shop drawings, cable layouts, and schematics for accuracy and constructability
- Oversee material procurement planning and inventory management for electrical equipment
What you’ll bring
- 6-8 years experience in electrical MEP design
- Proficiency with HT/LT system design and equipment specifications
- Experience reviewing shop drawings, single-line diagrams, and schematics
