Senior Support Engineer - Core Networks

About the role

Ericsson is hiring a Senior Support Engineer - Core Networks to provide production support for 4G/5G IMS and core network functions across multiple Indian locations (Noida, Chennai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Gurgaon). The role involves monitoring IMS nodes, handling customer-reported incidents and problems per SLA, leading incident/problem/change management, supporting cloud infrastructure upgrades, and participating in a 24x7 on-call emergency rotation. The engineer will collaborate with global competence teams, ensure high availability and performance optimization, and may contribute to project delivery including system integration, testing, and upgrades.

What you’ll do

• Act as the main support interface for the customer across the IMS domain for monitoring and maintaining IMS nodes.
• Provide support and lead the team for incident, problem, and change management activities.
• Support monitoring during cloud infrastructure upgrades and babysit post IMS node upgrades.
• Collaborate with global competence domain teams and serve as the interface towards the customer.
• Ensure high availability, resiliency, and performance optimization of deployed solutions.
• Participate in 24x7 emergency support if necessary.
• May be involved in project delivery including system integration, testing, and upgrades.

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor's (BTech or equivalent) in an engineering field from a recognized and accredited institution.
• 5 years of experience with a background in IT or Telecom operations.
• Interest in cloud networks and 4G/5G infrastructure within production support contexts.
• IMS (VoLTE/VoWiFi) installation, integration, and troubleshooting experience.
• Strong expertise in Core Products and Cloud native based telecom architectures.
• Understanding of 4G/5G call flows and 3GPP specifications.
• Troubleshooting experience of issues faced by customers in live networks.
• Knowledge of E-2-E call flows for VoLTE/VoNR/EPSFB procedures.

Nice to have

• Additional competence in 4G EPC (MME, SGW, PGW) and 5G Packet Core & UDM.
• Experience with Ericsson CEE, CCD/CNIS platform.
