About the role
Seasoned Azure Data Engineer Tester leading test strategy for large-scale Azure data platform modernization. Ensures accurate ingestion, transformation, storage, and reporting across cloud-based solutions. Experienced in Azure Data Factory, Synapse, SQL, Data Lake, Snowflake, DBT, Python, PySpark, and Agile environments. Drives automation, performance testing, and defect tracking with Jira.
What you’ll do
- Drive test strategy and create test cases
- Implement test automation strategy
- Participate in architecture, design, and code reviews
- Test Azure data pipelines (ADF, Synapse)
- Validate end-to-end data movement
- Validate ETL/ELT transformations across Medallion layers
- Identify missing, duplicate, or incorrect data
- Validate dashboards, reports, and visualizations
- Test data in Azure SQL and Data Lake for integrity
- Validate schema and source-to-target mappings
- Develop automated test scripts (SQL, Python, PySpark)
- Perform performance, scalability, and load testing
- Track defects and test cycles using Jira
