Senior Engineer - Power System Consulting

About the role
ETAP seeks a Senior Engineer to provide power system consulting and engineering support worldwide, performing load flow, short circuit, motor start, transient stability, relay coordination, arc flash, harmonic analysis, reliability, electromagnetic switching transient, and EMI/EMC studies. The role includes developing junior team members, preparing detailed study reports, managing projects to meet budget and quality targets, ensuring compliance with IEC/IEEE standards, and troubleshooting site issues.
What you’ll do
- Provide electrical power system consulting and engineering support to clients worldwide.
- Perform power system analysis, design, and review of electrical systems; troubleshoot site issues and tripping incidents.
- Develop technical competency of junior team members and oversee project team performance.
- Prepare detailed study reports based on simulation and analysis; lead engineering effort.
- Manage selected projects, tasks, and design processes to meet budget, quality, and timeframe targets.
- Ensure compliance with international standards (IEC/IEEE) and client requirements.
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical engineering or related field from a recognized institution.
- At least 10 years of power system study experience, preferably in consulting; Middle East projects preferred.
- Hands‑on experience with load flow, short circuit, motor start, transient stability, relay coordination, arc flash, harmonic analysis, reliability, electromagnetic switching transient, EMI/EMC studies.
- Proficiency in ETAP/PSCAD/CDEGS/PSSE or equivalent software for power system studies.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, organizational, and communication skills; proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of Python/MATLAB and renewable energy system design preferred.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of Python, MATLAB coding, and renewable energy system design and implementation.
- Consulting experience on Middle East power system projects.
- Exposure to renewable energy studies (Solar/Wind) including FACT devices, battery storage, grid integration.
