About the role

AI Engineering team at GE Vernova builds generative AI solutions to automate prompting and create reusable frameworks across business units. The Principal Engineer designs, tests, and refines LLM prompts, collaborates with domain experts, and integrates prompt-driven applications, while documenting best practices and guiding strategic tool selection. What you’ll do

• Collaborate with domain experts to translate business needs into effective LLM prompts
• Develop, test, and refine prompts for diverse use cases ensuring high accuracy
• Integrate LLM solutions with software applications alongside developers
• Contribute to a scalable prompt engineering framework for reuse across units
• Gather and analyze user feedback to improve prompt effectiveness
• Stay current with LLM advancements and advise on tool selection
• Document processes, best practices, and outcomes in a knowledge base

What you’ll bring

• 16-18 years relevant experience
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field
• Experience with prompt engineering and LLM tools such as OpenAI GPT and Hugging Face
• Proficiency in Python
• Strong problem‑solving and communication skills
• Willingness to travel at least 2 weeks per year
