Senior Frontend Engineer, Web Infra

About the role

Web Infrastructure team builds and maintains the foundational frontend systems that power development for 1,000 engineers across Rippling. The Senior Frontend Engineer will own workstreams transitioning the frontend from a monolith to a federated architecture, evolve the core web CLI, and optimize build efficiency and developer ergonomics. You will design and ship internal tooling, support AI‑assisted development workflows, and participate in on‑call rotations to ensure reliability. Bangalore office, hybrid model with three days onsite.

What you’ll do

• Own and deliver key workstreams for transitioning to a federated frontend architecture
• Evolve and maintain Rippling’s core web CLI and build infrastructure
• Optimize build efficiency and artifact delivery across environments
• Build and ship internal frontend tooling and libraries to improve engineering velocity
• Serve as the go‑to expert on frontend build systems and mentor product teams
• Develop infrastructure enabling AI agents to author and validate production code
• Participate in on‑call rotations, drive incident resolution, and ensure system reliability

What you’ll bring

• 6+ years software engineering experience focusing on frontend workflows or developer tooling
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ESNext), TypeScript, and Node.js
• Experience with modern bundlers like Webpack or Vite and Module Federation
• Hands‑on experience instrumenting build telemetry and performance baselines
• Familiarity with large‑scale frontend monorepo architectures
• Proven ability to collaborate across large engineering orgs
• Experience building infrastructure that supports AI‑assisted development workflows
