Senior Java Engineer

About the role

Iris Software seeks a Senior Java Engineer in Gurugram to design and develop scalable enterprise applications using Core Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices. The role involves defining API contracts, optimizing performance, and mentoring junior developers while collaborating with cross-functional teams. This is an on-site position based in Gurugram, Haryana.

What you’ll do

• Design and develop scalable enterprise applications using Core Java and Microservices
• Define API contracts, service boundaries, and integration strategies for distributed systems
• Optimize application performance through caching, database tuning, and JVM optimization
• Own end-to-end delivery of modules including design, development, and deployment readiness
• Conduct code reviews ensuring adherence to coding standards and security guidelines
• Design event-driven architectures and asynchronous communication mechanisms
• Drive improvements in CI/CD pipelines, logging, monitoring, and deployment automation
• Mentor junior developers on coding standards, debugging techniques, and best practices

What you’ll bring

• 6-8 years of experience in Java development
• Strong proficiency in Core Java (Java 8+), OOPS, Multithreading, and JPA
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Spring Security (JWT), and Microservices
• Expertise in REST APIs, Kafka, MySQL, and Backend Unit Testing (JUnit)
• Solid understanding of Data Structures, Design Principles, and Clean Architecture

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS CloudShell
• Familiarity with DevOps tools like GitLab, GitHub, or Bitbucket
