About the role
Caterpillar Inc. seeks a Senior IT Analyst (Applications) / Manufacturing Business Analyst within Global Business Technology - Caterpillar Financial Services India Private Limited. Based at the Bangalore PSN office, the role supports evolving regulatory and compliance initiatives, serves as a trusted business partner for operational issue resolution and strategic governance, and maintains country-specific expertise to ensure operational continuity. The position requires a five-day onsite work week in Bangalore.
What you’ll do
- Assess impacts, clarify requirements, and ensure timely and compliant implementation amid frequent regulatory and compliance changes through collaboration with business, legal, compliance, and IT stak
- Serve as a trusted partner to the business for operational issue resolution, strategic initiatives, and governance activities
- Participate in MD Governance forums and local IT committee meetings to provide business systems expertise and insights
- Maintain dedicated in-country expertise to preserve institutional knowledge, reduce delivery and operational risks, and ensure consistent support for daily operations and future initiatives
- Help create contingency plans to mitigate impact of disruption on core applications
- Identify key players, criticalities, roles, and responsibilities
- Investigate application-related issues with both business and IT professionals
- Recommend enhancements for a major application system or related subsystems
What you’ll bring
- Knowledge of major production application systems used for delivery of services to internal and external clients
- Ability to leverage major production application systems in diverse situations
- Working knowledge of problem solving approaches, tools, and techniques for organizational, operational, or process problems
- Knowledge of effective advisory methods to provide valued information and advice to clients regarding products, technologies, services, and solutions
- Knowledge of application design and architecture principles and practices
- Knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirements analysis
- Knowledge of system and software testing to design, plan, and execute system testing strategies
- Ability to integrate and communicate among applications, databases, and technology platforms
