About the role

Senior System Software Engineer at NVIDIA’s Automotive Team, responsible for designing and developing safety and security compliant system software for the DRIVE platform. Leads real‑time software features on Tegra SOC, builds I/O virtualization, and collaborates with ASIC teams to enhance performance. Applies formal methods, ISO26262/ISO21434 standards, and debugging tools to deliver high‑integrity solutions. Drives performance measurement and tooling to optimize system efficiency. Requires 8+ years in embedded real‑time system architecture, strong C/Ada/SPARK programming, ARM v8 expertise, and experience with QNX, RT Linux, and formal verification. Ideal candidate is analytical, team‑oriented, and adept at safety and security analysis.

What you’ll do

• Architect ISO26262/ISO21434 compliant system software for DRIVE
• Design real-time features for Tegra SOC
• Develop I/O virtualization for Tegra SOC
• Lead bring-up for next-gen Tegra SOC
• Collaborate with ASIC teams to boost performance & virtualization
• Apply Formal Methods for high-integrity software
• Create debugging tools to enhance developer experience
• Measure & optimize system performance

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor's/Master's CS or equivalent
• 8+ yrs system software architecture for real-time embedded
• Strong computer architecture & OS fundamentals
• Design complex system solutions
• Strong C and/or Ada/SPARK programming & debugging
• Performance analysis & system analyzer tools
• Debugging tools experience
• Team-oriented, analytical, self-motivated contributor

Nice to have

• Embedded systems & RTOS (QNX, RT Linux) expertise
• ARM v8 SOC low-level dev & architecture
• Ada/SPARK programming & TLA+ formal verification
• Architectural safety (FMEA/DFA) & security (Threat modeling)
• ISO 26262 compliant SDLC experience
