About the role

Staff Engineer Solutions Test at Calix leads testing of network solutions across cloud, embedded, and network access products. Based in Bangalore, India, the role focuses on end‑to‑end testing of GPON/NGPON/XGS‑PON fiber access, Layer2/3 Ethernet, and upper‑layer protocols. What you’ll do

• Set day-to-day priorities to meet team goals
• Develop test strategies and create test cases
• Execute and monitor tests, report issues and results
• Perform regression, scalability tests, evaluate compliance
• Validate customer use cases with tests
• Reproduce field issues, confirm resolution
• Use traffic generators for real-world video, data, voice testing
• Capture and analyze data packets
• Troubleshoot, debug, document system faults
• Lead/mentor junior and senior test engineers
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and 3rd parties
• Travel for face-to-face meetings and events

• Experience testing SNMP, TR69, Netconf UIs
• Experience testing wireless tech, RSTP, BGP, G.8032, L2/L3 routing
• Experience with Wireshark, tcpdump, iperf, traffic generators, test tools
• Experience with OLT-ONU (OMCI) end-to-end testing and troubleshooting
• Excellent troubleshooting skills
• Articulate problems in detail
• Excellent English communication with local/remote teams
• Hands-on performance test methods/tools: Spirent, IXIA, Abacus/Ameritec, Ookla Speed Test, Iperf
