Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

About the role

Pearson seeks a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join its agile delivery team in Bangalore or Chennai, India. The role involves executing functional and exploratory testing while developing automated QA systems to ensure product reliability. This hybrid position requires collaborating with cross-functional teams to shape quality assurance practices and embed quality throughout the delivery lifecycle.

What you’ll do

• Execute functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing
• Collaborate with developers and product owners on testable acceptance criteria
• Identify gaps in testing practices and establish consistent QA processes
• Develop test cases, automate scripts, and maintain reusable test assets
• Support setup of test management tools for visibility and traceability
• Participate in agile ceremonies to champion quality and continuous improvement
• Assist in building metrics and reporting on quality trends for releases

What you’ll bring

• Associate's degree in CS/IS with 4+ years software testing experience
• Bachelor's degree in CS/IS with 2-3 years software testing experience
• Proven ability to lead a small team of QA engineers
• Strong understanding of agile delivery frameworks and scrum process
• Experience establishing structured QA processes, frameworks, or standards

Nice to have

• Familiarity with test automation frameworks (Selenium, Playwright)
• Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and QA impact
• Familiarity with Pearson Psychometric products

(OR) Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field with 2 to 3 years of experience in software testing
