Business Analyst - Intraday Liquidity / SWIFT Payments / Cash Management

The Business Analyst role within the Intraday Liquidity, SWIFT Payments, and Cash Management domain is based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India and operates on-site. The position focuses on gathering, analyzing, and documenting business and functional requirements for payment flows, liquidity monitoring, settlement processes, and cash management solutions. Day-to-day work includes translating requirements into BRDs, FRDs, user stories, and process flows, performing SQL-based data analysis and validation, supporting testing and defect resolution, and coordinating with business users, technology teams, operations, and external vendors.

What you’ll do

• Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements for Intraday Liquidity, SWIFT Payments, and Cash Management solutions
• Work with business stakeholders to understand payment flows, liquidity requirements, settlement processes, and operational workflows
• Translate business requirements into detailed BRDs, FRDs, user stories, functional specifications, and process flows
• Analyze SWIFT payment messages, payment processing workflows, settlement, reconciliation, and exception handling
• Support Intraday Liquidity initiatives including liquidity monitoring, cash positions, funding requirements, and transaction flows
• Work on Cash Management processes including cash positioning, account management, liquidity forecasting, and payment processing
• Perform data analysis and validation using SQL scripting, including complex queries, joins, aggregations, data reconciliation, and validation
• Work closely with development and QA teams to clarify requirements, support testing, and validate delivered functionality

What you’ll bring

• 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in Banking / Financial Services
• Experience with Intraday Liquidity, SWIFT Payments, and Cash Management solutions
• Ability to gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements
• Proficiency in SQL scripting for data analysis, complex queries, joins, aggregations, and validation
• Experience analyzing SWIFT payment messages, payment processing workflows, settlement, reconciliation, and exception handling
• Experience supporting testing activities including UAT, SIT, regression testing, and defect analysis
• Strong stakeholder management skills to coordinate with business users, technology teams, operations, and external vendors
• Ability to perform root-cause analysis, impact assessment, and gap analysis for business and system issues
