About the role

MUFG Global Service Private Ltd. (Bengaluru) builds and operates enterprise database platforms supporting critical financial services. The Senior MSSQL Database Engineer leads SQL Server engineering, automation, SRE practices, and performance optimization while collaborating with infrastructure, security, and application teams. Bengaluru, on-site, hybrid model with occasional remote work for automation tasks.

What you’ll do

• Lead implementation, administration, and support of Microsoft SQL Server platforms
• Provide secondary support for IBM DB2 environments
• Drive SRE practices, monitoring, and reliability metrics
• Develop automation scripts using PowerShell and Python
• Perform performance tuning, capacity planning, and root cause analysis
• Ensure database security, compliance, and audit readiness
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to maintain platform stability
• Document procedures and support Level 3 production incidents

What you’ll bring

• 10+ years database engineering and administration
• Hands‑on experience with Microsoft SQL Server in large‑scale environments
• Experience supporting IBM DB2 databases
• Proven SRE implementation and automation skills
• Strong troubleshooting of performance, connectivity, and security issues
• Experience in highly regulated financial services environments (preferred)
• Expertise in PowerShell, Python, or similar scripting languages
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
