Legal & Financial Analytics team at Dolby Laboratories bridges IP strategy with financial performance. The Senior Data Scientist transforms patent and financial data into actionable insights, builds predictive models, and creates dashboards to guide high‑stakes negotiations. Based in Bangalore, India, on‑site work required, with alignment to US Pacific Time hours.

What you’ll do

• Analyze financial and patent activity data to identify trends, risks and high‑value assets
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports for stakeholders
• Partner with Data Engineering to ingest new data sources and ensure data quality
• Build scalable workflows for feature engineering, model deployment and validation
• Provide data‑driven recommendations for patent portfolio strategy and negotiations
• Apply machine learning, NLP and LLM techniques to categorize patent claims and forecast trends

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor's or Master's in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics or related field
• At least 2 years of data science experience

Nice to have

• Proficiency in Python, R or similar
• Experience with SQL and data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI
• Familiarity with statistical methods, machine learning and predictive modeling
• Experience with IP data (USPTO/EPO) or financial analytics
• Knowledge of NLP techniques for legal text
