About the role

Electrification CoE at Baker Hughes drives low‑to‑zero carbon power plant solutions and plant electrification. As a Staff Electrical Engineer you will lead plant‑level electrical design—including MCC, switchgear, substations, cables, transformers, protection systems, batteries and UPS—while ensuring efficiency, budget compliance, and quality across internal and external stakeholders. Hyderabad, India, on‑site with flexible working hours.

What you’ll do

Lead electrical design activities at plant level, including MCC, switchgear, substations, cables, transformers, protection systems, batteries and UPS
Drive performance excellence by ensuring efficiency, accuracy, timeliness, and budget compliance
Coordinate junior colleagues and outsourcing engineering resources to balance workload and maintain quality
Provide support to other disciplines, procurement, and project management
Participate in meetings with customers and suppliers as required

What you’ll bring

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
Proven technical leadership in electrical engineering organizations
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Advanced problem‑solving abilities
Experience with power generation applications and prefabricated power distribution rooms
Proficiency in power system studies using ETAP, DigSilent PF or PSCAD
Experience in offshore power generation and distribution
Knowledge of hazardous area electrical solutions and standards
