Senior Engineering technical leader

About the role

Senior Engineering technical leader at GE Vernova’s Power Conversion India team drives end‑to‑end execution of Solar, Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and Hybrid Plant Control System projects. The role leads detailed engineering, EPC work, inverter and plant controls validation, FAT/SAT/HIL commissioning, and ensures on‑time, on‑budget delivery while coordinating with sourcing, project management and quality teams. Based in Chennai, India, the position is on‑site with relocation assistance available.

What you’ll do

• Lead end‑to‑end project execution for Solar, BESS and Hybrid Plant Control System projects
• Perform detailed engineering, EPC work, and validation of inverter & plant controls
• Coordinate technical issues as single point of contact for customers and project managers
• Track project deliverables and support engineers in resolving technical challenges
• Develop single line drawings, schematics, and layout plans for LV/HV equipment
• Manage schedule development, design reviews, quality control, and contractor oversight
• Drive performance and reliability enhancements back to product
• Define processes, conduct RCAs, and validate process controls

What you’ll bring

• 15+ years leading large‑scale engineering projects
• Expertise in Solar, Energy Storage, Plant level systems
• Experience with grid code compliance (Australia, UK, USA, EU, India)
• Proficiency in GE’s MarkVIe tools (Toolbox ST, Workstation ST, Cimplicity, P80i, HDM, Simulink)
• Strong knowledge of power conversion systems and controls
• Experience in detailed engineering, EPC, simulation models, and site execution
• Leadership in cross‑functional teams (Engineering, Sourcing, Manufacturing, Logistics)
• Excellent communication and problem‑analysis skills
