About the role

Senior Group Engineer- HVAC Design at AtkinsRéalis focuses on delivering innovative, sustainable, and technically robust solutions across all MEP disciplines—HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and Public Health Engineering—within the Middle East Design Team. The role demands strong technical leadership, acting as a Subject Matter Expert, and driving digital transformation, quality and technical governance, and "Safe by Design" principles. Responsibilities include leading complex design packages, mentoring teams, supporting knowledge management, maintaining commercial awareness, and engaging clients. The position offers opportunities to influence multidisciplinary projects, develop technical capability, and progress toward senior technical authority roles.

What you’ll do

• Produces innovative solutions
• Clearly marshals and delivers thoughts on paper, provides clear and detailed documents
• Able to take over a technical lead role, with a growing reputation internally and externally within their field
• Can take on Subject Matter Expert role within discipline, growing towards a Professional Head of Discipline or Technical Authority role
• Able to provide leadership on "Safe by Design" on projects and review our approach to hierarchical risk elimination, mitigation and controls
• Undertakes specialist/complex packages of work and function as a Discipline Technical Reviewer on Medium technical risk projects within their own discipline
• Able to present their technical work and that of their colleagues in their field to clients
• Contributes to and researches the development of existing and new areas of technology/capabilities to inform business strategy
• Promotes the importance of quality within their business
• Acts as a Technical reviewer/signatory on low/medium-risk projects and bids
• Familiar with the commercial governance, systems and project management governance

Nice to have

Relevant professional qualifications or demonstrate good progress towards these e.g. CEng, RIBA, CEnv, P.Eng, P.E, APM etc.
