About the role

Senior Engineer - Application Management at LSEG is responsible for managing the Offshore Environment Management Team within SwapClear, overseeing environment build, batch support, and deployment of code changes from development to production. The role provides application support, configuration, and maintenance of Linux, Control‑M, Oracle, SQL, Murex Architecture, Murex MxML & Datamart. Engineers work shifts (Morning, Day, Night) based on UK time, with out‑of‑hours and weekend support, including on‑call duties. Key responsibilities include issue management, code deployment, automation of environment support, escalation, batch monitoring, coordination with infrastructure teams, release implementation, and support to business and risk teams. The position requires strong technical expertise in Linux, Control‑M, Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL, Murex, scripting, version control, DevOps tools (Ansible, Jenkins, Docker, SonarQube), and a solid understanding of agile methodologies. Candidates should have a degree in a technical field, excellent problem‑solving skills, and experience in a post‑trade or clearing environment.

What you’ll do

• Issue management and follow up with development and project team.
• Engage in code deployment across multiple environments.
• Identify and implement automation of environment support and buildout.
• Escalation and management of issues to resolution.
• Non‑production batch run and monitoring in Control‑M and issue resolution.
• Liaise with infrastructure teams to manage SwapClear environment – DB, Unix, MQ, Storage, Portal, Networks, Control‑M, Gitlab.
• Issue tracking and analysis.
• Release coordination and implementation.
• Support BAs, tester, risk analysts in a scrum‑like setting.
• Provide overnight support of non‑production services and weekend production releases.

What you’ll bring

• Degree educated, preferably in a technical field.
• Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.
• Strong Linux, Control‑M, Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL, Murex environment management skills.
• Scripting skills (UNIX shell scripting: bash, korn shell).
• Hands‑on in version control repository (Ideally bitbucket, Gitlab).

Nice to have

• Experience in a Post Trade or Clearing service environment.
• Familiarity with financial products and financial terms.
• Experience of working in an IT support team.
• Strong technical background in core technologies with multiple years of experience.
