Virtualization Backup Engineer

About the role

Veeam, the Data and AI Trust Company, seeks a Virtualization Backup Engineer in Bangalore to provide technical support for data resilience solutions. The role involves troubleshooting complex issues across Windows, VMware, and Microsoft environments while documenting interactions and educating customers. This position is based in Bangalore, India.

What you’ll do

• Perform troubleshooting and analysis, including log file investigation
• Take ownership of customer issues from beginning to resolution
• Troubleshoot issues in Veeam, Microsoft, and VMware components
• Identify defects or misconfigurations and correct them as break/fix scenarios
• Educate customers on processes and interactions
• Document all customer interactions accurately within SLA in CRM tool

What you’ll bring

• Fluent English (reading/writing/speaking)
• Advanced knowledge of Windows Server 2016/2019/2022/2025 and Windows 10/11
• Practical knowledge of TCP/IP, firewalls, NAT, ports, DHCP, and DNS
• Ability to troubleshoot third-party components from Microsoft and VMware
• Experience with log file investigation and defect analysis

Nice to have

• UNIX/Linux knowledge
• VMware ESX(i) administration
• Microsoft Hyper-V administration
• Database engines (SQL/Oracle) familiarity
