About the role

R&D team at Nokia’s Fiber Access division drives innovation in fiber‑based fixed access networks. The Senior Technical Specialist leads design and development of high‑performance software for OLT platforms, collaborating with cross‑functional R&D and Product Management to deliver scalable, customer‑centric solutions. Based in India with a hybrid work model, the role offers flexible onsite and remote collaboration.

What you’ll do

• Lead development of high‑quality software for OLT products
• Design, develop and implement Layer 2 networking solutions
• Collaborate with Product Management to translate customer feedback
• Drive end‑to‑end troubleshooting and resolution of complex telecom software issues
• Guide and mentor teams, ensuring high engineering standards
• Contribute to an agile and fast‑paced development environment

What you’ll bring

• Graduate or Postgraduate Degree in Engineering
• 10–15 years in telecom broadband access domain (Fiber Transport / OLT development)
• Strong knowledge of Datacom, L2 forwarding, QoS, VLAN, L2 Protocols
• Proficient in C, C++, Python, Go
• Experience in test automation (Robo, Python)
• Knowledge of network processors, packet processing, traffic engineering
• Leadership/mentoring experience
• Experience in GPON Transport (nice to have)
