About the role

Senior Technical Specialist – R&D at Nokia drives innovation in fiber‑based fixed access networks. The role leads design and development of high‑performance software for OLT platforms, collaborating with cross‑functional R&D and Product Management to deliver scalable, customer‑centric solutions. Based in India with a hybrid work model, the specialist works onsite and remotely to meet project milestones.

What you’ll do

• Lead development of high‑quality OLT software
• Design and implement Layer 2 networking solutions
• Collaborate with Product Management to translate customer feedback
• Drive end‑to‑end troubleshooting of complex telecom software issues
• Guide and mentor engineering teams
• Contribute to an agile, fast‑paced development environment

What you’ll bring

• 10–15 years telecom broadband access experience
• Strong knowledge of Datacom, L2 forwarding, QoS, VLAN

Nice to have

• C, C++, Python, Go programming
• Test automation (Robo, Python)
• Network processors and packet processing
• Network element management
• Technical leadership and mentoring
