Sr Data Engineer, Data Eng & Governance

About the role

Dolby Laboratories seeks a Senior Data Engineer for its Data Eng & Governance team in Bangalore, India. You will design and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure to power critical data-driven initiatives across the organization. This is an on-site role requiring collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver robust data solutions.

What you’ll do

• Design and implement highly reliable ETL/ELT processes for large-scale data ingestion
• Develop and maintain large-scale data ingest architecture using cloud-based services
• Ensure data quality through validation, cleansing, and reconciliation processes
• Cultivate data catalogs and metadata management solutions for improved discoverability
• Create tooling like SDKs and APIs to enable user self-service
• Implement robust monitoring, alerting, and logging for data pipelines
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior data engineers
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate data needs into robust solutions

What you’ll bring

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related quantitative field
• Expert-level proficiency in Python, Scala, or Java
• Deep experience with distributed processing frameworks like Apache Spark or Beam
• Hands-on experience with data warehousing/lake technologies (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake)
• Advanced SQL skills for data manipulation and optimization
• Strong experience with major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Familiarity with containerization/orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
