About the role

Data Engineering – Data Engineering and Data Science team at Mactores builds modern data platforms to accelerate digital transformation. The Lead Database Migration Engineer drives end‑to‑end heterogeneous database migrations from Oracle and SQL Server to PostgreSQL/Aurora, managing AWS DMS and SCT toolchains, authoring runbooks, and leading cutover and validation activities. Remote work model, collaborating with enterprise customers and internal platform teams.

What you’ll do

• Lead assessment, planning, schema conversion, execution, and post‑migration validation
• Design, configure, and manage AWS DMS and SCT environments
• Develop comprehensive migration runbooks with rollback and readiness procedures
• Perform dependency analysis, compatibility reviews, and migration strategy recommendations
• Collaborate with infrastructure, application, security, and platform teams
• Drive migration testing including functional, performance, and failover testing
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to migration teams
• Validate converted logic through functional and regression testing

What you’ll bring

• 8-12 years database architecture and migration experience
• Hands‑on AWS DMS and Schema Conversion Tool expertise
• Deep knowledge of Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Aurora PostgreSQL
• Proven delivery of enterprise‑scale heterogeneous migrations
• Experience authoring migration runbooks and validation plans
• Strong understanding of AWS database services and best practices
• Ability to convert PL/SQL and T‑SQL to PL/pgSQL
• Leadership of migration teams or mentoring engineers
