Technical Lead - Project Engineering

About the role

Veolia seeks a Technical Lead for Project Engineering in Bangalore to drive ecological transformation solutions in water, waste, and energy management. The role involves leading project teams, reviewing P&IDs and technical calculations, and managing vendor negotiations to ensure design accuracy. This full-time position is based on-site in Bangalore, Karnataka, India.

What you’ll do

• Review and approve P&IDs, markups, and mass balance interpretations
• Verify correctness of mechanical equipment calculations and sizing
• Approve equipment lists, valve selections, and electrical load calculations
• Lead project teams including mechanical designers and drafters
• Monitor and control project schedules and budgets
• Negotiate with vendors and evaluate technical bids
• Resolve customer comments and troubleshoot installation issues
• Coordinate with modelers to monitor design progress

What you’ll bring

• Engineering Degree in Mechanical or Chemical
• Master’s in Mechanical or Chemical

Nice to have

• 9-13 years of experience
• Basic understanding of P&ID and heat/mass balance diagrams
• Knowledge of pretreatment, filtration, and post-treatment processes
• Proficiency in ASME, ASTM, API, DIN codes and standards
• Ability to review sizing calculations for pumps, blowers, and valves
• Experience with material take-offs and fabrication drawings
• Vendor negotiation and technical bid evaluation skills
• Project leadership and customer interface capabilities
