Senior Associate Director, Financial Insights Manager

About the role

HSBC is seeking a Senior Associate Director, Financial Insights Manager for its Technology Finance Planning & Analytics Strategy team in Pune, Maharashtra, India. The role partners with senior GCIO management, Technology leadership, and Tech COO Operations Managers to provide oversight across all Technology finance matters. Day-to-day work includes owning cost reporting, producing ad-hoc analysis and trend insights for senior stakeholders, engaging with business and finance counterparts, and supporting the Technology Transformation agenda. The position also involves collaborating with Financial Operations teams, mentoring fellow Financial Insights Managers, and driving continuous improvement within the CIB Tech COO and GCIO COO Finance pillar community.

What you’ll do

  • Partner with senior GCIO management, Technology leadership (including the CIO), and Tech COO Operations Managers to provide oversight and support across all Technology finance matters.
  • Assume ownership of all aspects of cost reporting (direct costs, recovery charges, budget interlock, and target setting), acting as an independent challenge authority and influencing decision-making t
  • Produce ad-hoc analysis, commentary, trend insights, and presentations for senior stakeholders.
  • Own the provision of GCIO cost reporting and articulate key messaging through monthly and ad-hoc reviews with business and finance counterparts (COO, CFO).
  • Ensure cost transparency and underlying drivers are understood, ensure timely escalation of funding issues/opportunities, and influence business initiative forecasting and prioritization.
  • Provide financial support to the Technology Transformation agenda, including validation of financial targets, benefits forecasting, tracking, delivery, and alignment to operational plans agreed by CIO
  • Collaborate with Financial Operations teams to ensure underlying transactions are processed correctly and provide relevant business context.
  • Organize and collaborate with fellow Financial Insights Managers to drive high performance, including regular training, mentoring, and performance reviews.

What you’ll bring

  • Accounting qualification (e.g., CA, ACA, CIMA) or equivalent.
  • Sound knowledge of cost management and accounting principles, including purchase orders, contracts, and operational expenses for hardware and software.
  • Strong financial acumen with deep experience in planning and forecasting.
  • Strong discipline around data accuracy, integrity, and control.
  • Skilled in developing and sustaining long-term relationships with critical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Excel, data analysis, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to synthesize complex information into data-driven decisions.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
