About the role
Silicon Labs leads low‑power wireless connectivity. As Lead Applications Engineer – WiFi (NPI Apps) in Hyderabad, you will drive early customer engagements, translate use‑cases into technical requirements, validate end‑to‑end Wi‑Fi systems, debug across layers, and influence product roadmap. You’ll collaborate with R&D, Product, and customers to ensure Wi‑Fi products reach production readiness and meet certification standards.
What you’ll do
- Lead Alpha/Beta customer engagements for Wi‑Fi products
- Act as primary technical point of contact for NPI customers
- Translate use cases into technical requirements for R&D and Product teams
- Drive end-to-end customer enablement from evaluation to production readiness
- Validate end-to-end system use cases beyond individual features
- Identify gaps in SDK, features, documentation, tools before GA
- Ensure production readiness for key customer deployments
- Provide structured feedback to improve product quality and usability
- Own customer issues end-to-end: reproduce, debug, elevate, close
- Debug across application, TCP/UDP, IP, Wi‑Fi MAC/PHY, system level
- Analyze connectivity, throughput, power, coexistence, certification issues
- Use Wireshark, iperf, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers
- Define and drive debug infrastructure requirements (logs, traces, crash dumps)
- Enable efficient field issue triage and root cause analysis
- Work with R&D to improve system observability and debuggability
- Define and develop use‑case-driven sample applications
- Contribute to SDK examples, application notes, developer documentation
- Ensure documentation completeness and usability for customer adoption
- Work closely with R&D, Product Management, Segment teams, FAEs
- Influence product roadmap and feature prioritization based on customer insights
- Support certification, interoperability, ecosystem readiness
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor's/Master's in CS/EE or related field
- 8+ years embedded Wi-Fi development, system validation, or applications engineering
Nice to have
- Customer-facing or applications engineering experience
- Multi-protocol wireless systems (Wi-Fi + BLE + Matter + Zigbee)
- Wi-Fi certification and regulatory processes familiarity
- Embedded Linux or host-based networking experience
- Wireless security concepts knowledge
- Familiarity with Jira, Salesforce, or similar platforms
