About the role
Caterpillar Inc.'s LPSD team in Bangalore, Karnataka is hiring a Simulation Senior Associate Engineer to develop and maintain field follow data configuration files for data loggers. Day-to-day work involves translating customer data capture requirements into signal definitions, sampling rates, and busload limits, maintaining customer communication on build status and troubleshooting, and delivering structured updates on high-volume file build risks and milestones. This full-time, on-site role requires five days a week onsite and supports LPSD products across NTI, NPI, and CPI lifecycle stages.
What you’ll do
- Develop data logger configuration files that meet customer requirements for channel types, counts, and data capture quality
- Translate customer data capture requirements into appropriate signal definitions, sampling rates, and busload limitations to ensure optimal data quality
- Maintain customer communication on build status, request modification needs, and field operation troubleshooting support
- Deliver regular, structured updates to team and management on high volume file build risks and milestones
- Maintain and support data configurations that support all LPSD products across NTI, NPI, and CPI lifecycle stages
- Troubleshoot field operation issues and provide support for configuration modifications
- Evaluate test plans on HIL bench and apply software testing tools
- Work onsite five days a week in a fast-paced, technically challenging environment
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, automobile, aerospace, electrical, or electronic engineering
- Overall 4 years or more experience developing configuration files for data loggers for large power applications
- Experience in Matlab/Simulink and test plan evaluation on HIL bench
- Good knowledge of software testing tools like CANalyzer
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, technically challenging environment
- Accuracy and attention to detail with high levels of precision
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
