About the role

Crew Management team at Anglo-Eastern Ship Management oversees the MHR Department, ensuring compliance with company policies and maritime regulations. The Assistant General Manager leads recruitment, crew deployment, budget tracking, and training initiatives while coordinating with ship officers and handling P&I claims. Mumbai, India, on-site work model, relocation assistance available.

What you’ll do

• Monitor statistics and analysis of crew status and promotions
• Verify wages, standby wages, and recover monies from assignments
• Make decisions on retention, re‑employment, promotion, training, and counseling
• Coordinate officer and crew training and mandatory courses
• Follow up P&I claims for assigned vessels
• Brief officers and ratings on company policies and systems
• Provide technical and audit assistance as required
• Ensure ethical practice and fairness across all crew ranks

What you’ll bring

• Proven managerial experience in the marine industry
• Knowledge of maritime regulations and standards
• Graduation/Degree in Maritime Studies, Business Administration or related field
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Ability to manage budgets and resources
• Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities
• Strong communication and stakeholder liaison skills
• Technical knowledge of shipboard systems and equipment
