Sr. Staff Software Engineer

About the role

Databricks seeks a Sr. Staff Software Engineer to lead networking infrastructure for its AI platform. Based in Bengaluru, the role shapes the technical vision for next‑generation connectivity and observability services powering millions of VMs across multi‑cloud environments. Responsibilities include designing large‑scale connectivity platforms between control and compute planes, setting architectural direction, and mentoring senior engineers. The candidate will collaborate with product, operations, and partner engineering teams to translate business goals into durable, extensible networking systems. Ideal candidates bring deep expertise in Rust, Java, Scala, or C++, 15+ years of production experience, and 10+ years building large‑scale distributed systems. Experience with SaaS, service‑oriented architectures, cloud networking, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CloudFormation is required.
