About the role
Associate Director – Data Product Management at Amgen leads the evolution of product management practices in India, driving strategy, execution, and scaling of the practice. It aligns product initiatives with global Capability Leads, ensuring consistency across engineering, data science, and business functions. The Associate Director also provides leadership for Agile PMO and Business Performance, coordinating planning, delivery tracking, and portfolio insights. With 16‑20 years of experience in information/tech systems, the role requires deep expertise in product discovery, roadmap planning, and data/AI products, and strong communication across technical and business audiences.
What you’ll do
- Lead Product Management practice evolution across India center.
- Define and promote modern product management principles, tools, standards.
- Champion customer‑centricity, measurable outcomes, lean experimentation.
- Align practices with global Capability Leads for consistency.
- Advise product teams on roadmaps, prioritization, go‑to‑market.
- Step into delivery—shape direction, validate needs, support discovery.
- Manage growing team of Product Managers and Business Analysts.
- Foster high‑performance culture of growth, accountability, collaboration.
- Coach team on craft, delivery, stakeholder engagement.
- Lead hiring, onboarding, talent development for product function.
- Partner with U.S. Capability Leads and cross‑functional teams.
- Align product efforts with enterprise goals and roadmaps.
- Maintain stakeholder relationships and feedback loops across time zones.
- Align Agile PMO and Business Performance functions.
- Partner with Sr. Managers for planning, delivery tracking, portfolio insights.
- Serve as primary contact for these functions within India leadership and U.S. counterparts.
What you’ll bring
16-20 years experience in Information/Tech Systems
Nice to have
- 6–8+ years in senior product management or product leadership role, ideally with practice ownership.
- Experience defining and scaling product management capabilities in a matrixed organization.
- Hands‑on experience in product discovery, roadmap planning, and cross‑functional delivery.
- Familiarity with data and AI products, and ability to operate in highly technical environments.
- Skilled in Agile/SAFe methodologies and product operating models.
- Strong communication and influencing skills across technical and business audiences.
- Experience working with globally distributed teams; biotech/pharma experience is a plus.
