Custom CPU Physical Design Engineer Lead/Staff/Sr Staff

About the role

Qualcomm Hardware Engineering team designs and optimizes cutting‑edge CPU physical designs for next‑generation devices. The Lead Engineer drives block‑level and chip‑level physical design, timing sign‑off, STA and PDN activities, and mentors a small team of engineers. Bangalore office, on‑site work model, relocation assistance available.

What you’ll do

• Plan, design, and verify physical implementation from RTL to GDSII
• Optimize PPA targets and manage power delivery network methodology
• Collaborate cross‑functionally to resolve constraints and verification issues
• Develop low‑power flow strategies including power gating and multi‑Vt
• Write and maintain Tcl/Perl scripts for automation

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field
• 2+ years hardware engineering experience or Master's with 1+ year
• PhD in related field
• 7-14 years in physical design and timing sign‑off for high‑speed cores
• Experience leading block‑level or chip‑level physical design, STA and PDN
