Embedded Risk Associate Director

About the role
Embedded Risk Associate Director supports targeted IT risk assessments, remediation of policy deviations, and day‑to‑day risk management activities. Leads projects, builds relationships with IT partners, enforces risk policies, reviews controls, assesses key technologies, prepares risk reports, facilitates issue closure, and serves as technical expert on DTCC applications.
What you’ll do
- Support targeted IT risk assessments and remediation of policy deviations
- Execute day‑to‑day IT risk management activities and stakeholder coordination
- Lead or participate in projects within assigned risk areas
- Develop relationships with IT partners and control evaluation functions
- Communicate and enforce department risk policies and procedures
- Review policy and procedure documents for control alignment and technical accuracy
- Lead assessments of key technologies (Middleware, API, platform security)
- Prepare and review risk treatment, risk profiles, and inherent risk assessments
- Facilitate issue and action closure, evidence gathering, documentation
- Act as technical expert on DTCC applications and technologies
What you’ll bring
8+ yrs related experience; 7+ yrs system development, analysis, or technical auditing; Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Nice to have
- Lead technical discussions on vulnerabilities, remediation, risk
- Solid knowledge of Middleware (CICS), APIs (Apigee), security architecture, governance, performance, resiliency, operability
- Experience with cloud platforms, native services (AWS EC2), cloud security
- Background in financial services IT or Big 4 technical advisory services
- Experience leading IT Risk and Control Self‑Assessments (RCSAs) and risk reporting
- Strong quantitative skills for risk metrics, trend analysis, KRIs
- Deep understanding of core IT processes: application dev, infra, cloud, cybersecurity, resiliency, change management
- Experience designing risk assessments across complex IT environments
- Business acumen to align risk assessments with business priorities
- Hands‑on asset inventory analysis across portfolios
- Incident analysis and root cause analysis experience
- Strong governance, documentation, audit readiness
