Assistant Manager of Production

About the role

Commercial Vehicle Group (CVG) is seeking an Assistant Manager of Production in Indore to lead production operations within the seating industry. The role focuses on achieving line efficiency targets, managing manpower and machinery utilization, and delivering departmental KPIs across safety, quality, delivery, cost, productivity, and OEE. Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring daily production, driving productivity improvements through industrial engineering techniques, coordinating material availability and dispatch, and maintaining ERP and quality management system compliance.

What you’ll do

• Achieve line efficiency targets and ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machinery, and materials
• Lead, guide, and motivate the production team to meet daily production plans and norms
• Monitor daily production activities and ensure output targets are met within timelines
• Own and deliver departmental KPIs related to Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Productivity, and OEE
• Reduce production losses through MOST Study, Method Study, Operator Activity Study, and Micro-Motion Study
• Implement corrective and preventive measures related to Man, Machine, Material, and Method (4M)
• Prepare and review daily and weekly production plans based on customer schedules
• Coordinate with feeder shops and relevant departments to ensure JIT availability of materials

What you’ll bring

• Experience in production planning and control
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing and line balancing
• Proficiency in MOST and time study techniques
• Root cause analysis skills (5 Why, Fishbone)
• Working knowledge of IATF 16949 and core tools
• ERP systems experience
• Kaizen and continuous improvement capability
• Seating industry experience is preferable
