Iseries Consultant Specialist

About the role

HSBC is seeking an Iseries/Consultant Specialist to join its Technology team in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. In this role, you will develop and maintain software products within the Core Banking technology stack, providing end-to-end delivery and run lifecycle support. You will carry out software development, testing, and operational support while advocating modern development practices and collaborating with engineers, architects, and agile coaches to drive Core Banking product strategy.

What you’ll do

• Develop and maintain software products in the Core Banking technology stack.
• Provide support across the end-to-end delivery and run lifecycle.
• Carry out software development, testing and operational support activities with the ability to move between the technology stacks.
• Advocate and advance modern software development practices within the Core Banking engineering community.
• Participate in broader discussions about future state software architecture.
• Work with Ops, Dev, and Test Engineers to ensure operational issues are identified and addressed at all stages of a product or service release / change.
• Liaise with other engineers, architects, agile coaches, and other stakeholders to understand and drive the Core Banking product strategy.
• Work closely with teams, product owners, agile coaches, and other stakeholders to ensure delivery of world-class tools and capabilities for the engineering community.

What you’ll bring

• Minimum 6 years' experience on engineering and delivering software products.
• Proven hands-on experience on RPG, RPGLE, SQL, CLLE, CL OS/400, DB2/400.
• Knowledge of API & Microservices and designing & developing responsive UI components.
• Knowledge of design concepts and design patterns.
• Familiar with security practices for development.
• Good troubleshooting skills.
• Sound verbal and written communication to interact with global teams.
• Good interpersonal skills.
