About the role
HSBC is seeking a Fund Administrator to join its Bangalore, Karnataka, India team, supporting transfer agency and fund services operations within a highly time-critical environment. Day-to-day, you will process subscription and redemption trades, settlements, corporate actions, and fund pricing, while checking transactions, managing high-volume/high-value activity, and driving quality and productivity targets. The role requires keeping abreast of market developments, resolving problems proactively, and suggesting process improvements in consultation with a supervisor.
What you’ll do
- Process trades (subscriptions and redemptions), reporting, settlements, corporate actions, and fund pricing within transfer agency functions
- Check all transactions and activities, including input and processing where applicable, with independent checking at the same level
- Manage high-volume, high-value transactions to ensure no trades/activities are missed, avoiding claims and adverse client impact
- Perform day-to-day processing in accordance with agreed procedures, controls, and relevant fund parameters
- Keep abreast of business developments and market changes
- Suggest and implement improvements to Transfer Agency processes and procedures with the Supervisor
- Monitor and achieve productivity and quality targets to ensure optimum resource utilization and client SLAs
- Proactively identify and resolve problem situations, escalate where necessary, and drive customer-centric quality campaigns
What you’ll bring
- Graduate or post-graduate diploma/degree in Accounting, Finance, or Banking
- At least 2-3 years of prior experience in Transfer Agency & Registrar or Fund services operations
- Currently in the same role for at least 12 months
- Knowledge of the securities industry
- Strong computer skills in Excel and Microsoft Word
- Understanding of Market and Mutual Fund operations
- Strong interpersonal and decision-making skills
- Working knowledge of regulations such as CASS, IMR, GDPR, FATCA, CRS, and CSSF
Nice to have
- Experience handling Mutual Fund investors/investments
- Strong knowledge of TA Operational Transaction Activity for the UK/Europe/Asia industry, specifically Luxembourg Transfer Agency
- Multi-cultural background or experience, with ability to work across a broad range of cultures
- CISI – Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment certifications
- Higher qualification (not a bar, provided aspirations commensurate with the position)
