About the role

The Subcontracts Delivery Manager (SDLM) at Hitachi Energy India Limited manages the commercial, contractual, and operational aspects of construction and installation subcontracts on major HVDC projects from award through closeout. Based in Gurugram, Haryana, India, the role acts as the primary commercial interface with subcontractors, administering agreements, managing variations and claims, negotiating commercial matters, and monitoring performance while coordinating with Construction, Engineering, Project Management, Procurement, Cost Control, and Contract Management teams. The position is full-time and on-site.

What you’ll do

Manage subcontracts from award and handover through to completion and final closeout
Administer subcontract agreements and ensure compliance with contractual obligations
Manage variations, change orders, claims, notifications, and contractual correspondence
Monitor subcontractor performance, progress, risks, and opportunities
Manage payment certification, invoice verification, and cost control processes
Support dispute resolution, cost recovery, and final account negotiations
Coordinate with project stakeholders to support successful project execution
Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, quality standards, health and safety requirements, and company procedures

What you’ll bring

Relevant third level degree qualification (bachelor's degree) in Engineering
10 years experience in heavy/industrial business, preferably in the power sector
Minimum of 5 years in subcontract management experience, including commercial, contractual, and construction awareness
Proficiency in both spoken and written English language
Experience of successfully coordinating and managing multiple subcontracts/tasks effectively
Proficient with standard form and bespoke contracts
Strong knowledge of contract administration, subcontract management, claims management, change control, commercial management, risk management, and project delivery
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
