Software Development Manager

About the role

Bazaarvoice is a global technology company that creates smart shopping experiences by connecting brands and retailers with billions of consumers through user-generated content and data-driven insights. As a Software Development Manager based in Bengaluru, you will lead a highly motivated engineering team responsible for maintaining and developing products that leverage Bazaarvoice's massive data network using technologies like Elasticsearch, Mongo, AWS Lambda, and Docker. You will guide engineers, collaborate with product managers and cross-functional teams across geographies, review and optimize infrastructure costs, and drive technical best practices to build new product capabilities. This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days in office at Prestige Pacific Tech, Kadubeesanahalli.

What you’ll do

• Provide overall leadership of a highly motivated team of engineers
• Translate complex functional and technical requirements into individual release assignments
• Work closely with product managers to ensure delivery of value to customers
• Ensure continuous improvement in engineering best practices, software development, and delivery processes focused on delivery outcomes
• Maintain current technical knowledge to support rapidly changing technology and bring new technologies to the team
• Review and optimize infrastructure costs
• Collaborate and work with teams in different geographies to build new product capabilities
• Experience recruiting and building high performance teams

What you’ll bring

• 8+ years of Software Development management experience
• 4+ years of project management or scrum master experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience
• 4+ years' experience with at least one full stack language such as Java, JavaScript, React, jQuery or similar
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Strong presentation and technology leadership skills
• Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithm, enterprise systems, and asynchronous architectures
