Technical Coordinator, Fund Accounting
About the role
Northern Trust seeks a Technical Coordinator, Fund Accounting to perform fund accounting activities across Pune, Bangalore, or Manyata/GVT locations. The role evaluates and reconciles complex mutual, commingled, and collective funds for month-end reports and daily valuation, verifies transactions, audits income reports, and resolves exceptions. Day-to-day work includes QA checks, NAV file sign-offs, procedure maintenance, cross-location query resolution, and training new team members. The position requires 4-6 years of experience, shift flexibility, and the ability to work in any of the listed locations.
What you’ll do
- Evaluate and reconcile complex funds including mutual, commingled, and collective for production of client month-end reports or daily valuation
- Verify complex transactions, audit income reports within scheduled timeframes, and resolve exceptions on a daily basis for fund accounts
- Perform quality assurance checks on information received internally from other supporting functions
- Work closely with home locations to resolve queries
- Create, maintain and update procedures for funds
- Ensure compliance with all controls and procedures outlined in the procedures manual and general company policies
- Review and sign off on NAV files of other team members
- Identify efficiencies and areas for improvement to reduce risk and become more efficient
What you’ll bring
- Strong subject matter expertise/knowledge of NT business
- Strong operations knowledge including secondary review & controls, risks & mitigation
- Excellent written and verbal language skills with ability to independently address technical and non-technical issues
- Analytical ability, problem solving, day-to-day task management and escalation of issues
- Working knowledge of Excel including macros/automations
- Sustainable performance of the above core skills for at least 24 months in the current role
- Flexible to work in any of the three locations (Manyata, GVT & Pune)
- 4-6 years of experience
