Principal Engineer, Java with Angular

About the role

A partner company seeks a Principal Engineer in India to lead scalable full-stack development using Java, Spring Boot, and Angular. The role involves shaping architecture, driving engineering standards, and building secure, high-performance applications in a remote setting. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable products while mentoring technical excellence.

What you’ll do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Design, develop, and maintain modern, scalable frontend applications using Angular.
• Build, enhance, and maintain RESTful APIs, integrations, and business services.
• Develop secure, scalable, and high-performance full-stack applications following clean architecture principles.
• Contribute to system architecture, technical design, solution decomposition, and key implementation decisions.
• Implement secure coding practices covering authentication, authorization, input validation, data protection, and OWASP principles.
• Design and execute automated testing strategies across unit, integration, and end-to-end testing levels.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines while supporting containerized and cloud-native deployment environments.

What you’ll bring

• 11+ years of total professional experience in software engineering and development.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Strong hands-on expertise in Java and Spring Boot for backend application development.
• Advanced experience with Angular for building modern and scalable web applications.
• Strong experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and service-oriented architectures.
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and relational database design.
• Experience with API management and integration platforms such as Apigee, Kong, or MuleSoft.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerized development, and cloud-native deployment environments.
• Solid knowledge of secure coding practices, including authentication, authorization, input validation, data protection, and OWASP principles.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools for code generation, refactoring, documentation, testing, and engineering productivity.
