Lead Infrastructure Engineer, Middleware and Messaging Operations

About the role

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Infrastructure Engineer for the Middleware & Messaging Operations (MWO) team in Hyderabad, India. The role leads complex infrastructure initiatives for business applications, evaluating and deploying middleware and messaging solutions across IBM MQ, Kafka, and Solace platforms. Day-to-day work includes designing, building, and maintaining HA clusters and hardware appliances, directing risk and control operations, troubleshooting high-impact outages, and collaborating with vendors and cross-functional teams using Agile practices.

What you’ll do

• Lead complex initiatives to develop infrastructure to provide solutions for business applications
• Participate in projects intended to continually improve or upgrade the infrastructure
• Evaluate internal and external software solutions to meet target state architecture goals
• Review and analyze high-impact outages to ensure proper processes and procedures are in place to avoid future problems
• Design, build, deploy, and maintain infrastructure solutions through collaborative efforts with the team and third-party vendors
• Design, code, test, debug, and document programs using Agile development practices
• Make decisions in technical designs and implementation plans, and identify project risks and resource requirements
• Direct the daily risk and control flow of operations, focusing on policies, procedures, and work standards to ensure success

What you’ll bring

• 5+ years of Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Solutions experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
• Hands-on experience at scale on Middleware (IBM MQ Appliance, x86 & zLinux, IBM Message Broker, Kafka, Solace) administration including build, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, deploys, conf
• Experience configuring HA clusters such as RHCS, Veritas, or TSAMP and Multi-Instance MQ queue managers, and troubleshooting HA cluster issues
• Experience on IBM MQ on zOS, zLinux, Linux, and AIX
• Creating, configuring, and maintaining MQ objects like Queue Managers, Queues, Channels, Listeners, and Topics
• Strong team or technical leadership experience with strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to interact with all levels of an organization, including leadership
• Provide assistance in problem determination and resolution at L2/L3 level
