About the role
Senior Principal Engineer on SonicWall’s Cloud Secure Edge (CSE) platform, driving the technical vision for a cloud-native Security Service Edge (SSE) that delivers Zero Trust access to SaaS and enterprise resources globally. Leads large‑scale, distributed system design, API strategy, and cross‑team architecture alignment while mentoring senior engineers and championing AI‑first engineering practices. Pune, India, Remote work model with hybrid flexibility.
What you’ll do
- Define and drive platform architecture and technical vision
- Lead design of large-scale, distributed, cloud-native systems
- Own and evolve API and platform strategy
- Drive cross‑team technical alignment and architecture reviews
- Solve scalability, reliability, and performance challenges
- Partner with product, security, and leadership teams
- Mentor senior engineers
- Champion AI‑first engineering practices
What you’ll bring
- 12+ years of experience building large-scale distributed systems
- Deep expertise in Go/C/C++/Rust
- Strong knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS)
- Experience designing cloud-native architectures and scalable APIs
- Domain expertise in Zero Trust architectures (ZTNA, SSE/SASE)
- Leadership and AI‑first engineering mindset
