Senior Software Engineer, Python

About the role

The BOLD Platform services team designs, creates, manages, and maintains highly scalable and distributed microservices for web and mobile product applications, handling domains such as visitor tracking, user profiles, authentication, content, and payments. As a Senior Software Engineer (Python), you will design and architect scalable enterprise-level automation applications, develop Kubernetes-based services, debug complex issues, optimize performance, and build web scraping and automation solutions using tools like Playwright and stealth browsers. You will partner closely with the Product team, take ownership of initiatives from concept to launch, and collaborate across time zones. The role is based in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India.

What you’ll do

• Design and architect scalable and robust enterprise-level automation applications using Python.
• Develop applications that run on PODs (Kubernetes), ensuring high availability and reliability.
• Debug complex issues in applications and devise solutions that enhance stability and performance.
• Identify performance bottlenecks within applications through profiling and metrics analysis.
• Optimize existing code to improve performance and efficiency, ensuring the system can handle high traffic loads.
• Utilize automation frameworks and tools such as Playwright, Chromium, and stealth browser for web automation tasks.
• Implement message handling to facilitate communication between different services.
• Develop web scraping solutions to gather and process data from various online sources.

What you’ll bring

• Strong programming skills in Python, including expertise in string manipulation and regular expressions for text data processing during web scraping and automation tasks.
• Deep understanding of OOP principles (encapsulation, inheritance, polymorphism) to design robust and maintainable software systems.
• Knowledge of common design patterns (e.g., Singleton, Factory, Observer) to enhance system design, code reusability, and software architecture best practices.
• Solid foundation in algorithms (sorting, searching, parsing) and data structures (lists, dictionaries, trees) to solve complex problems efficiently.
• Good understanding of modern browser functionality, including rendering engines, JavaScript engines, HTTP protocols, and browser APIs, with experience optimizing scraping strategies based on browser b
• Experience with caching technologies (e.g., Redis, in-memory caching) and messaging protocols (e.g., Azure Service Bus, Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Working knowledge and proven experience in containerization using Docker, along with understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience of 4.5 years or more as a Senior Software Engineer.
