Java Senior Engineer

About the role

Iris Software is seeking a Java - Senior Engineer in Gurugram to design and develop scalable enterprise applications using Core Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture. The role involves owning end-to-end delivery of modules, optimizing performance, conducting code reviews, and mentoring junior developers within a culture that values ownership and continuous learning. This position is based in Gurugram.

What you’ll do

• Design and develop scalable enterprise applications using Core Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture.
• Define API contracts, service boundaries, and integration strategies for distributed and enterprise-grade systems.
• Develop reusable backend components and enterprise services following clean architecture and secure coding practices.
• Optimize application performance through caching, asynchronous processing, database tuning, and JVM optimization.
• Own end-to-end delivery of assigned modules including design, development, testing support, and deployment readiness.
• Conduct code reviews ensuring adherence to coding standards, security guidelines, and engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Design event-driven architectures and asynchronous communication mechanisms to improve system scalability and resilience.

What you’ll bring

• 7-10 years of experience (6-8 years required)
• Proficiency in Spring Boot + Spring Security (JWT)
• Experience with Backend Unit Testing (JUnit)
• Strong understanding of Data Structures
• Knowledge of Microservices + REST APIs
• Expertise in Multithreading & Concurrency
• Solid grasp of OOPS Concepts
• Proficiency in Java 8+ and JPA
